Our Surveys

The views of the people of South Tyneside are very important to us. They help us shape the services we provide. On this page you will find ways in which you can help inform us of your views so we can further develop some of the services that we, or our partners, provide.

Do you help and support someone in South Tyneside?

Start: 19 February 2020 End: 4 March 2020

We would like the views of people aged 18+ who look after someone unpaid who may be sick, have a physical or learning disability, mental ill health, frailty, or a drug or alcohol problem. This may be a child, partner, parent or other family member, friend or neighbour. You may be providing care to them on a daily basis or caring from a distance. Whatever your circumstances we want to hear about the things that are working well for you and the things that aren’t, so that we can plan for what you need to help you care well and look after your own physical & emotional health and wellbeing. The information you give us is anonymous and will only be used for the purpose of developing a new Carers Strategy for South Tyneside.

Supporting Working Carers – Employers Questionnaire

Start: 19 February 2020 End: 4 March 2020

1 in 9 people now juggling work with caring for someone who is older, disabled or seriously ill – and our population ageing – carers are a growing reality in our workforce. Without the right support, 1 in 6 carers give up work or reduce working hours to care. But many will be your most skilled and experienced staff, the 45-64 year olds at the peak of their careers. South Tyneside Council and partners want to find solutions to support working carers to stay in work and to help those wanting to return to work. Our aim is to develop ‘Carer friendly’ organisations.

We would like your views on how we might achieve this. We will use the information you tell us to help develop a Carers Strategy for South Tyneside for the next three years. This survey is anonymous and we will only contact you if you have provided your details.
